Planting trees in the Wright's Creek Watershed. It takes a community to build the Acadian Forest of the future.
Dust off your work boots, grab a hat and a shovel. BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY. We will be planting more trees and shrubs as we continue to build the Acadian Forest within the watershed. Every Saturday morning 9 to noon from June 4 to June 16. See meeting location below.
Looking for volunteers! Should be fun and easy work as the ground was tilled last year. No sod to remove 😊 Please meet us in the field between 55 and 57 Westcomb Crescent (X). We’ll be walking to the planting area by following the track along the north side of the farmer’s field. Bypass the 1st Field and continue on the track around the hedgerow to see where the pots are set out ready to be put in the ground in the Middle Field. We’ll be planting about 10-15 feet back from the edge of the new extended buffer zone beginning in the Middle Field and making our way around towards the South Shore Field (planting areas) over the next few weekends. Bring your shovels, gloves, water, hat, sunscreen, and friends. Everyone welcome! Planting instructions and some shovels will be available at the site. See you all there!
